How it works
Welcome! MKWorld Strat is a community-built library of Mario Kart World shortcuts, each one demonstrated by a real YouTube video. Here's the quick tour.
What is MKWorld Strat?
Think of it as a shared notebook of every faster line, cut, and clever trick players have found, organized by track so you can pull up exactly what you need before a race. Everything is submitted, watched, and kept honest by fellow players. It's a fan project, made by the community, for the community.
Finding a shortcut
Head to Tracks and pick where you're racing. There are two kinds of track:
Circuits
The named courses you know, like Coconut Mall, Mario Circuit, and the rest.
Intermissions
The connecting stretches between two circuits, shown as an origin → destination route.
Open a track to see its shortcuts. Each one has a short video you can play right on the page, and a colored tag telling you what sort of trick it is:
The same shortcut can often be pulled off in more than one way — shroomless, with a mushroom, or on a tighter but riskier line. Those show up as variants: separate videos grouped under the one shortcut, so you can compare them and pick the approach that suits you.
Found one you love? Tap the star to save it to your favorites so it's easy to find again.
Sharing a shortcut you've found
Know a cut that isn't here yet? Add it! All it takes is a YouTube video that shows it off.
Sign in with Discord or Google. That's all you need to become a member.
Submit the shortcut
Head to Submit a shortcut, paste the YouTube link, pick the track and type, and add a few details.
A moderator takes a look
New members' submissions wait in a review queue so a moderator can give them a quick check before they go public. Trusted contributors skip the queue, so their shortcuts publish right away.
It goes live
Once approved, your shortcut joins the track for everyone to learn from. You'll get a notification either way.
Keeping everything accurate
Games change and videos break, so the community keeps things tidy together:
- Spot a problem? Use the report button on any shortcut, whether it's a broken video, wrong info, or a duplicate. A moderator will sort it out.
- A shortcut stops working? When a game update patches a trick, we archive it instead of deleting it. It's hidden from the normal lists but still there for the record, so the history of the game is never lost.
Roles
As people help out more, they can take on bigger roles. Each one builds on the last:
Anyone signed in. Submit shortcuts (they wait for a quick review), report problems, and save favorites.
A trusted member. Your submissions go live instantly, with no waiting in the review queue.
Reviews the submission queue, resolves reports, and keeps shortcut info accurate.
Everything a moderator does, plus managing members: promoting roles and handling bans.
