To cut the big turn, start a charge jump, shroom at the striped white lines, release the jump and trick off the right side of the tree back onto the road - much faster than drifting around with the mushroom. Never trick the left side of the tree; that is out of bounds.

Mostly clear the next big mushroom shortcut with no items: left charge jump off the coin on the ramp (the coin boost is needed for the height) and trick off the cow, then drift onto the following ramp.
